After a successful launch in the New Jersey market, NetEnt continues its expansion in the US by applying for a license with The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
Obtaining a gaming license from the gaming authority would enable the Swedish developer to supply Pennsylvania-based online casinos with its online casino games.
A Mix of Table Games, Video Slots and Jackpot Games
According to the press release published by NetEnt, the renowned developer will launch in the Pennsylvania market “with a mix of our table games, video slots, jackpot games and unique features like free spins” that have been already appreciated by casino operators and their customers.
“We are excited to continue our strategic expansion in the US. Our ambition is to be live in Pennsylvania as soon as the market opens,” said Erik Nyman, Managing Director NetEnt Americas LLC, adding that they believed that their success in New Jersey would continue in Pennsylvania.
NetEnt Americas LLC is a US subsidiary of NetEnt that provides online gaming operators with casino games since 1996.
Eleven State Casinos Applied for a Licence
With a population of almost 13 million people, Pennsylvania is the second large US state to regulate online gambling. So far, 11 out of 13 state casinos have applied for a licence and five of them including Hollywood Casino, SugarHouse, Parx, Harrah’s and Mount Airy have been allowed to offer online slot machines, table games and Poker.
The regulator will offer two unallocated licenses to other qualified gaming entities (QGEs) who can be registered abroad. They will be able to submit a petition between 15 and 31 October. The PGCB will not accept petitions after this period and the winners of a blind random drawing will have 45 days to apply for a licence.
