INTRODUCTION
When you play casino games, you already know your options. You win, or you lose, depending on how the cards are dealt. In recent years, we have seen a new type of release emerging. Taking inspiration from sports betting, these games allow you to wager on the outcome of the round. As the situation changes, so do the odds you can win.
Bet on Baccarat is played with eight fifty-two card decks. After a certain portion of these cards is played, they are reshuffled and the round resumes. The RTP for this game is 97.00%. Unlike traditional baccarat, this release does not have a set strategy to follow. It all comes down to how risky you want the bets you are playing to be.
HOW TO PLAY BET ON BACCARAT
While the fundamentals of baccarat have not changed, the way you bet and play it has. At the start of the round, casino members can place four types of bets. You can play the main bets, consisting of standard wagers and side bets you would play in baccarat. However, you can also play stakes you do not have in traditional baccarat. That includes suits & colours, totals and ties.
Add all the bets you want to play to the bet slip and wait for the round to start. The host will draw two cards for the player and banker positions. If needed, a third card will be drawn for one or both sides, as well. The goal of baccarat is to land an eight or nine. The side that gets this score wins immediately. If neither reaches eight or nine, then the side closest to them wins instead.
Keep in mind that in Bet on Baccarat, you only care which side wins if you placed the main bet wager. Unless specified in a wager, you can win or lose no matter what side has won. Payouts are determined based on two things. The difficulty of the wager and what cards have been drawn before the deck is reshuffled.
EXTRA FEATURES
Players are already familiar with main bets and common side bets such as pairs, big and small. However, Playtech has added quite a few wagers to Bet on Baccarat you do not see in the main game. These stakes are split into separate categories: suits & colours, totals and egalite/ties. The more difficult a bet is to win, the better its payout is.
Suits & colours are rather self-explanatory. Players win if the cards on the table have matching colours or suits.
- More Red or More Black Cards
- Black = Red
- All Cards Same Suit
- Player Cards Same Suit
- Banker Cards Same Suit
Totals bets grant prizes if the cards in one or both hands are even or odd.
- Player Odd/Even
- Banker Odd/Even
- Player + Banker Odd/Even
- Player + Banker < 10
- Player + Banker > 9
Egalite is all about predicting what tie will happen between the player and banker hands. Keep in mind not all tie bets are always available. This is the most difficult bet to win, and the payouts are increased to make up for it.
PAYOUTS
Because Bet on Baccarat is based on sports betting, there are no fixed payouts. The rewards for main bets are usually always the same. However, they can change more drastically for the other three wager categories as the deck slowly empties. We do not recommend going for main bets. If you want to play main bets, we recommend standard baccarat instead.
what we like
- New baccarat bets
- An interesting mix of baccarat and sports betting
- One bet can bring some serious wins
what we don’t like
- Main bets are not worth playing
- Can be confusing to new players
BET ON BACCARAT (PLAYTECH): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT
We feel like Bet on Baccarat is aimed at a very particular audience. Standard baccarat fans usually enjoy it because it is simple and offers a high RTP. This Playtech release kind of sticks to that, but is also full of high-risk, high-reward wagers. If you want to play Bet on Baccarat like traditional baccarat, it will not be worth it. Play it if you want to chase big wins and have some fun!
