INTRODUCTION

Evolution’s Deal or No Deal Live is a live dealer recreation of a popular game show with the same name. It did incredibly well in the United States and several European countries. We were pleasantly surprised by how well the developers captured the format. Players will be able to enjoy a similar experience to the TV show. That is, if they succeed in the qualification round!

The RTP for this game is 95.42%. This is assuming optimal play, which is difficult to do in a title like this. The top prize you can win in one round is 499:1, or 500x your total stake. Upon qualifying, players can continue betting cash to increase the cash prizes hidden within the offered boxes.

HOW TO PLAY DEAL OR NO DEAL LIVE

Each Deal or No Deal Live round starts with the qualification round. Place your bet and spin the wheel. Your goal is to land the golden segments on the upper section of the wheel. Players can raise their chance of qualifying by decreasing the difficulty. This increases your bet, but guarantees you will get a ring every spin. Buying one ring increases your wager by 3x, and two rings by 9x.

After qualification ends, players enter the Top Up stage. This is an optional section. Players do not have to place these additional bets if they do not want to. Until the qualification round ends for everyone, you can keep spinning the wheel. This will add to the cash prizes already present in the briefcases. There is no limit on how many times you can play Top Up. However, once the timer runs out, the Top Up ends.

If you successfully qualified, you will be able to play the game show part of the release. This segment consists of four offers. The first offer consists of three briefcases. Their average value will be offered as a Deal. You can choose to accept it (deal) or to keep playing (no deal). If you do not choose in time, the game will assume you decided no deal.

The next choice you will be offered is with four briefcases, with nine remaining. If you pick no deal again, you are taken to the third offer. Four more briefcases, with five remaining. If you pick no deal again, you are taken to the fourth and final offer.

Three briefcases are opened, leaving behind the last two briefcases. You will be assigned one briefcase randomly. Choose deal to accept the prize in the three briefcases, or no deal to take the prize in the assigned briefcase.

With the last two briefcases, you can choose to switch briefcases. If you think the other briefcase contains more money, you can press the button to win its prize instead.

EXTRA FEATURES

Evolution’s Deal or No Deal can feel overwhelming with just its main game. As such, we are not surprised to see that the developers decided not to go for any side bets. The only extra feature players have access to is the Top Up feature. While it is presented as part of the main bet, it is optional. Do not feel pressured to play it if you feel constrained by your budget.

PAYOUTS

How much you win depends on the way the briefcases are shuffled and what deals you take. The top prize you can get in one round is 500x your total stake. You can increase it by an extra 50x through the Top Up feature. That said, you will not be winning wagers like these frequently. Such prizes are very rare treats. Assuming you play each game show round perfectly, the RTP for this release is 95.42%.

what we like

  • Interesting adaptation of existing game show
  • Gameplay feels intense and engaging
  • You can pay to get past the qualifying round easier

what we don’t like

  • The game can feel boring during qualification

DEAL OR NO DEAL LIVE (EVOLUTION): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT

If you enjoyed the game show on TV, you will enjoy Evolution’s take on Deal or No Deal. The qualification round can feel awful at times, especially if Lady Luck is not on your side. Once you get past that, you can enjoy the same action that is usually reserved for the silver screen. We enjoyed this release, but it will not be everyone’s cup of tea. We recommend starting small to try the game before committing any bigger amounts of cash.
