INTRODUCTION

Evolution Gaming’s Blackjack Party is the game you go to when you want an experience. It plays identically to their Live Blackjack game, with the only difference being in the dealers. This is a live dealer game with a limited number of spots: seven, to be exact! You have to grab one of them to be able to play. Otherwise, you can use Bet Behind to bet that certain player will win or lose the round. The video quality of the stream is fantastic, and we would expect nothing less from Evolution Gaming. However, what really sets Blackjack Party apart are the dealers! They are even more responsive and engaging than usual, making this release a joy to play.

The RTP for this game is 99.29% if you are using the basic blackjack strategy and are not playing any side bets. The dealer will always stand on a 17, no matter if said 17 is hard or soft. The dealer will peek to check for blackjack after all insurance bets have been placed. There are two available side bets in Blackjack Party: 21+3 and Perfect Pairs.

HOW TO PLAY LIVE BLACKJACK PARTY

Before you can start playing, you need to take one of the seven available seats. Act fast, since you will have to wait if all the spots are full. If that happens, you can use Bet Behind to observe the game and place bets that certain players will win. Once seated, choose one of the coins and place them on the bets you want to play. You have until the timer runs out to play all the main bets and side bets you want. If you finish earlier than that, you can use the Deal Now button.

Players receive two cards for their hand and are then asked to make a decision. Will they Hit, Stand, Double or Split? The first three can be played without any restrictions. Split, meanwhile, requires that the punter has a pair as their first two cards in order to be played. Double and Split both have an extra bet attached. Splitting a pair of Aces only draws one extra card.

With all decisions made, the dealer reveals their face down card. They keep drawing cards as long as their hand total is below seventeen. If the dealer or player goes over 21, they bust, meaning it is an automatic win for the other side. All punters play against the dealer and win if their hand is closer to twenty-one. While other players are present, they have no impact on whether you win or lose.

EXTRA FEATURES

Perfect Pairs gives you a chance to win if your first two cards form a pair. The strength of the pair ultimately decides how much you win. Any pair will score you a 6:1 payout, while a pair with matching colours earns a 12:1 win. The best of the bunch is definitely the Perfect Pair, where both suit and colour match. In that case, you win a 25:1 prize!

Meanwhile, 21+3 tasks you with forming a three-card poker hand. The hand is made up of your two initial cards and the dealer’s face-up card. How much you win from this side bet depends on the strength of the poker hand you make. You earn 5:1 for flush, 10:1 for straight, 30:1 for three of a kind, 40:1 for a straight flush and 100:1 for suited trips.

PAYOUTS

If you like big wins, you will need to play the side bets. However, doing so lowers the high RTP Blackjack Party is known for! If you choose to play only main bets, then your highest win will be the 3:2 blackjack win. Apart from blackjack, all other wins pay even money, with one exception. Insurance bets pay 2:1 if you correctly guess that the dealer has a blackjack. The odds of this happening are pretty bad, so we advise against playing the insurance bet.

what we like

  • Fun dealers
  • Interesting side bets
  • Low house edge

what we don’t like

  • All big wins come from side bets
  • No gameplay changes from Live Blackjack

LIVE BLACKJACK PARTY (EVOLUTION GAMING): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT

While we understand the idea behind this Evolution Gaming release, it never really won us over. Now, it will still be incredibly fun to play. That is a given since we are talking about blackjack! While the dealers are more chatty and engaging here, it never feels like such a major upgrade to deserve its own game.
