Everything is dog-related in the NextGen product. The reels are set in beautiful countryside, where people usually go to walk their dogs. The entire game is so cute and cuddly, starting from the main protagonists of the story. Ace is the brave dog pilot, coming from the United States of America.

He is accompanied by the lovely Jinse, an Asian dog dressed in traditional kimono, and the famous dog detective from Great Britain called Winchester, who carries his detective hat and his monocle. It’s as if they are preparing for a proper dog show because the Wild symbol appears to be a medal for the winner. The Wild will substitute for all regular symbols and will also pay the most.

There is also the Dog Bowl filled with dog food for hungry pups, and the Doge Bone that appears to be a sort of a necklace. Even the playing cards have pup paws all over, so as to fit the theme completely. The Golden Paw is the Scatter that triggers the Free Games feature.

This is definitely one of the simplest games NextGen has developed recently because the rules of the game cannot get easier than this. The 2017 release features a standard 5×3 playing grid and offers 25 fixed paylines, which pay left to right, beginning from the leftmost reel. All necessary options are located around the Spin button, and this is where you raise or lower your bets, set up to 100 Automatic spins, or check out the Paytables. Easy as pie!

Once you set the desired bet ($0.25-$250), you can start hitting the Spin button and landing wins. Remember that three of a kind is the minimum for winning payouts, so you will have to land at least three matching symbols on a payline if you want to start winning. The Scatter is the only symbol that pays on any position.

PAYOUTS

Since the Wild symbol pays the most, 400 coins for five of a kind to be exact, we would advise you to pack the cells with Wilds and win up to 10,000 coins in a single spin. Ace is also pretty generous, giving away 350 coins for the maximum combination, while Jinse will get you 300 coins once five of them end up on the same payline. The Free Games feature might provide lucrative payouts if you manage to land plenty if Sticky Wilds. Wonder Hounds’ RTP is 95.161%.

The biggest question here is whether you are a cat person or a dog person. Since we are one of the dog lovers, we will have to be honest and say that we immediately fell in love with these three cuddly puppies!

Even though we are such huge fans of dogs, we did manage to make an unbiased test of the NextGen title and we have to say that, cuteness and cuddliness aside, the game could use a bit more action, especially if we take under consideration the fact that it is not that easy to trigger the Free Games feature. All in all, not the best NextGen product we had the pleasure of playing, but certainly not a bad one either.
