INTRODUCTION
Playtech’s Blackjack Switch is an online blackjack table that answers plea players have had for a long time. The ability to swap cards between one another, and co-operate to have better chances of success! This is an RNG-powered table, so it’s just you playing. It has quite a few cool animations to help you immerse yourself. If that’s not something you care about, you can turn them off using the toggle.
Thanks to the swap rule, the RTP for this blackjack table is 99.92%, assuming perfect play. The dealer must hit on a soft 17. The rules also allow the computer to peek at its cards to check for blackjack, and offers you an insurance bet. The only other available side bet is the Super Match, which has you matching cards by value (jacks, tens, etc.).
HOW TO PLAY BLACKJACK SWITCH
To make a bet, you choose coins from the edge of the table. Then, you place them in one of the three available slots. You have two circles for each hand, and one specifically labelled Super Match. You will only be eligible for Super Match wins if you make bet on it. Once you’re done, you press Deal to receive your cards.
You receive two cards per each hand, with a counter next to the cards. Here, you’re able to Hit, Stand or Double freely. If you have a pair of cards, you’re allowed to split them. Keep in mind splitting and doubling have an extra bet attached. Switching the second cards of your two hands is also available for no extra cost. However, you can only do this during the first round, before you take any other action.
When you finish making decisions, the dealer reveals their face down card. If necessary, they will draw more cards until they get a hard seventeen or more. Players who succeed in pushing the dealer above 21 will only win if they get a blackjack. Otherwise, you only receive your money back; that’s the cost of being able to switch your cards about!
PAYOUTS
If you plan on getting any kind of decent win from Blackjack Switch, you will have to risk it with Super Match. Blackjack wins only pay 1:1, since the ability to switch makes them far more likely to appear. Standard wins also pay 1:1, while Insurance bucks the trend and still pays 2:1. Not that we’d recommend playing Insurance, given the bad odds. It might be worth risking it for a bigger payout, but not for a 2:1 prize.
what we like
- The animations are top notch
- Switching cards between hands feels amazing
- Super high RTP
what we don’t like
- All big wins are attached to side bets
- Blackjack pays 1:1
BLACKJACK SWITCH (PLAYTECH): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT
Blackjack Switch feels amazing to play. Switching your cards honestly feels like cheating at times. Which is the reason why Playtech had to restrict punters as much as it did. If there’s one thing we really dislike, it’s that blackjack pays 1:1 now. Blackjack should always be the highlight of the game; not some random side bet. However, these are minor complaints. Fans of blackjack must play this game!
