INTRODUCTION

Dead or Alive Saloon is a live dealer card game created by Evolution, a leading company in the world of Live casino gaming. The importance of its amazing presentation is immediately clear. Dead or Alive comes with a dedicated studio styled after a Wild Wert saloon. Thanks to Evolution’s acclaimed work on bringing the whole thing to life, the game looks immersive and exciting.

Under the hood, though, Evolution Dead or Alive: Saloon is an incredibly straightforward game. It’s completely chance-based, falling into the category of Live casino game shows.

Needless to say, this title is completely unique and unlike anything else available in the market. If you want to know more about what Dead or Alive: Saloon is and how it works, keep reading our review

HOW TO PLAY DEAD OR ALIVE SALOON

Two decks are used in the game: a conventional 52-card deck and a 52-card deck of bonus cards. Numerous multipliers and bonuses are present in the Bonus deck.

These two decks are mixed and the dealer will start drawing cards one by one. Your job is to predict which regular card will be drawn first, as opposed to a bonus card.

Before the round kicks off, you can place any number of bets on any number of cards. For instance, you can bet on an entire suit of cards or all cards of a certain value.

However, note that one bet only ever covers one card. You can mix and match multiple bets, but only one card is the winner. If you guess correctly, you win a base payout of 20x.

Before that happens, however, there’s a good chance a few bonus cards will appear first. Most bonus cards have multipliers on them, such as 20x, 30x, 50x, and 100x. Each of these multipliers is added to the eventual payout of a winning bet.

For example, if the dealer draws 30x, and then deals the regular card you bet on, you’ll win 50x (30x plus the base 20x.)

Also, the Bonus deck contains double cards. These will simply double any currently active multipliers (but not future ones.)

Casino Bloke Best tips for Dead or Alive Saloon

  • 1The game’s RTP is the same no matter which card you bet on. All regular playing cards have an equally good chance of being drawn, so all bets are statistically identical.
  • 2Betting on multiple cards is recommended. For instance, making any number of bets up to 19 is one idea. That way, you have a decent shot at winning, but you’ll also get a tidy profit even if there are no multipliers.
  • 3Moreover, betting on all regular cards is a decent strategy. It guarantees returns every round, but you’ll need the multiplier to go over 52x in order to turn a profit.

EXTRA FEATURES

The title’s game-show genre becomes more obvious once you consider the various special features. The biggest one is called the Bounty Hunt, which first the gun-slinging desperado theme perfectly.

Bounty Hunt is part of the Bonus deck of cards. It’s triggered if the dealer draws a Bounty Hunt card.

You will then be presented with three Wanted posters. Pick one at random, and you’ll receive one of three multipliers. Some are better than others, but you don’t really which is which before you pick, so just go with your guy.

Interestingly, every player participating in the Bounty Hunter round picks their own result. This means that the final multiplier total can be different for different players, even though you’re all playing in the same round.

PAYOUTS

As you may have picked up by now, there is no strict paytable for Dead or Alive: Saloon. The payout depends on how many multipliers were added to the base 20x using various bonus cards.

This means that any single bet can pay anywhere between 20x and 2,000x. It’s also worth noting that the game has a fixes maximum payout of $500,000.

Lastly, we should mention that the RTP of Dead or Alive Saloon is 97,02%, making it just slightly worse than roulette. Still, that’s a pretty respectable house edge for a speciality game.

DEAD OR ALIVE: SALOON (EVOLUTION): CASINO BLOKE’S VERDICT

We’ve seen a lot of exciting new Live casino games from Evolution in the recent year or two. They’re almost always innovative, which we always welcome with open arms. Dead or Alive is one such original idea, offering fast, exciting gameplay that no other game can really compete with.

That said, there’s really not all that much to this game once you peel back the slick presentation. It’s fun, but there aren’t many betting options or features to switch things up. As original as it is, the gameplay can quickly get repetitive.

Once you figure out a good strategy for Dead or Alive Saloon, though, it still has a lot to offer. Especially if you’re the type of player who likes to get out of their comfort zone.
