INTRODUCTION
iSoftBet’s European Progressive Roulette is an online roulette table designed to bring the thrill of a progressive jackpot to roulette players. This is an RNG-powered table, which means all results are calculated using math, rather than spinning a real wheel. The developers have done a wonderful job making a good-looking table. Not quite rivalling live dealer versions just yet, but more than enough to let you enjoy yourself.
This is a European roulette table, which means it only has a single zero. For the most part, it has identical rules, except for the side bet. It is mandatory, meaning you always have to spend one coin on it. This means the RTP for this iSoftBet release is 97.06%, slightly lower than your standard European roulette table. Instead of using a racetrack, all neighbour and French bets are played using a menu called Group Bet.
HOW TO PLAY EUROPEAN PROGRESSIVE ROULETTE
Placing your bet takes first priority. Simply select one of the coins sitting on the edge of the table, and place it on the bet you want. Keep in mind that the side bet is mandatory, so you have to plan for that extra cost when wagering.
If you mouse over a certain section of the table, it will highlight all numbers that will be affected by that bet. Mousing over also tells you the different betting limits different positions on the wheel have.
From there, just press the Spin button to let the roulette wheel spin. Depending on where the ball lands, you may win or lose. Your original wager determines how much you win. Available bets include outside and inside bets. Outside bets cover more numbers and are more likely to win. They have lower payouts as a result. Inside bets cover less numbers and have larger payouts to make up for the increased risk of playing one.
We like the minor conveniences that iSoftBet added to this game. If you liked your previous bet, for example, you can play it again with the push of a single button!
PAYOUTS
Even if we do not count the progressive jackpot, the top prize for European Progressive Roulette is winning a Straight Up bet. You receive a 35:1 payout and a chance at scoring increasing cash prizes. After it come splits with 17:1, Street with 11:1, Corner with 8:1, Top Line with 8:1 and Six Line with a 5:1 payout. For safer bets, you can try outside bets. Column and dozen pay 2:1, while red/black, odd/even and high/low pay 1:1.
what we like
- Shot at winning a progressive jackpot
- RTP is not much lower than standard European roulette
- Offers plenty of extra bets
what we don’t like
- Progressive jackpot side bet is mandatory
- Winning requirements are ludicrously high
EUROPEAN PROGRESSIVE ROULETTE (ISOFTBET): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT
Combining progressive jackpots and roulette was a dream for many developers. However, as iSoftBet’s release proves, it is a difficult balance to get right. They do a damn good job of it we have to admit. They were also the only ones bold enough to try it! Even so, the requirements for scoring the progressive jackpot are a little too high for our liking. We would like to see alternate methods become available for players to win the top prize.
