INTRODUCTION

Evolution Gaming’s Blackjack Diamond VIP offers the high roller blackjack experience enjoyed by multiple players. This table follows standard blackjack rules; you cannot swap your cards around as you can in Blackjack Switch. This is a live dealer table with seven player slots. Rather than using set animations, all cards are dealt by an actual human. The high video quality of the stream and the friendly dealers further enhance the experience and help with immersion. At the same time, the presence of other players allows you to compare your performance.

The RTP for this blackjack table is 99.29% assuming perfect play following a basic blackjack strategy. The dealer stands on a soft 17. The dealer is allowed to peek for blackjack after insurance bets are placed. Evolution Gaming offers two side bets in this release. The first one is Perfect Pairs, which rewards you if your first two cards form a pair. The second is 21+3, which creates a three-card poker hand with your hand and the dealer’s upcard. The stronger the hand, the better the payout.

HOW TO PLAY LIVE BLACKJACK DIAMOND VIP

The round starts by taking one of the seven available seats that are not occupied by the player. If multiple seats are open, you can occupy several at once. Choose between the coins, and place them on either the main bet or one of the side bets. You will only be eligible to win the two side bets if you place a wager on them ahead of time. You can then select Deal Now when you finish wagering, or you can wait for the timer to run out.

Punters receive two cards for each seat they occupy. At that point, they will be offered to Hit, Stand, Double Down or Split. The first three bets can be made freely, while Splitting requires having a pair as your first two cards. Splitting and Doubling Down have an extra wager attached. Splitting a pair of Aces means you only receive one additional card per hand, with no option to hit.

Once the decision-making period ends, the dealer will reveal their face down card. They will continue drawing cards until their hand reaches a hard seventeen or more. If the dealer is pushed above 21, you automatically win the round. Otherwise, the hand closer to twenty-one will be the winner. Getting exactly twenty-one with your first two cards results in a blackjack win, which is worth more money.

EXTRA FEATURES

Perfect Pairs tasks you with getting a pair with your first two cards. While any pair will result in a win, the side bet encourages you to get the best pair possible. The closer the two cards match, the stronger the payout will be. A mixed pair pays 6:1 while a coloured pair pays 12:1. A perfect pair, where both colour and suit match, will pay 25:1.

21+3 gives you a chance to win if your first two cards and the dealer’s up card form a three-card poker hand. The stronger said hand is, the better payout it will award. Flush pays 5:1, Straight earns you 10:1 and Three of a Kind scores a 30:1 payout. Getting a Straight Flush (matching colours) is a 40:1 win. Finally, suited trips (matching colours and suits) earns you a mouth-watering 100:1 score.

PAYOUTS

Big wins are the domain of side bets. Standard blackjack bets are much humbler in that regard! A blackjack win will pay 3:2, which makes them a lovely reward when they happen. Meanwhile, a regular win pays 1:1, while Insurance bets earn you 2:1 if won. That said, due to the bad odds attached to the Insurance bet, we would not advise playing it.

what we like

  • High video quality
  • Engaging side bets
  • High RTP
  • High limits

what we don’t like

  • All big wins are attached to side bets
  • An insurance bet is not worth playing

LIVE BLACKJACK DIAMOND VIP (EVOLUTION GAMING): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT

This is a high roller blackjack table, which limits how many people will be able to enjoy it. Still, the ability to play multiple seats at once will allow wealthy punters to have lots of fun. We appreciate the side bets offered by Evolution Gaming, but they are the only stand out thing here. In every other area, Blackjack Diamond VIP is identical to other live blackjack tables by Evolution Gaming, but that is hardly a disadvantage.
