INTRODUCTION
Microgaming’s High Limit Baccarat is an online casino table game that has been around for ages. This game dates back to 2003, and still manages to charm audiences worldwide. It has an odd, old-timey charm we really like. Combine that with the thrill of playing baccarat, and you have a contender that can still compete with everyone else. The animations, in particular, have held up surprisingly well!
Assuming you solely stick to banker bets, you can expect an RTP of 98.94%. High Limit Baccarat is played with eight decks, with each deck having 52 cards total. Unlike many other baccarat tables, this one does not offer any side bets to its players. It also supports the Squeeze feature, with minor adjustments to card designs to make it more exciting!
HOW TO PLAY HIGH LIMIT BACCARAT
This game is played on a table meant to replicate real-life baccarat tables. The board has multiple positions, which may confuse new punters. However, you only have three available wagers, and it does not matter where you place the coins. As long as they are on the Player, Banker or Tie positions, the game accepts the bet. If you are not certain about a specific wager, you can remove it using the Clear Bets button. You can keep adjusting your wager without feeling pressured by a timer until you press the Deal button.
When the round begins, two cards are dealt to both the player and banker positions. If you bet on one of these two to win, you will be able to Squeeze the cards. Keep in mind you can only Squeeze cards for the position you bet on. You cannot squeeze Player cards if you wagered Banker. When you are done previewing the cards, press Flip to reveal the cards. If there is a need for it, third cards will be drawn for the player and banker. These cards can also be Squeezed and must be revealed by pressing the Flip button.
If you backed the right hand, then you will win and earn a prize. You can see the results of the last few rounds in the History tab on the right side of the screen. If you want to repeat your wager, you can press Deal again. Otherwise, click Clear Bets, and place your new wagers where you want them.
PAYOUTS
Without any side bets, you are left with standard baccarat payouts to keep yourself going. Both banker and player bets pay even money. However, since banker stakes have a higher chance of winning than player ones, they are subject to a 5% commission. This does not affect your wager: but it does remove part of your prize. It would be more accurate to say that banker bets pay 0.95:1 instead.
Since the player bet is at a disadvantage, it pays the standard 1:1 reward. The final available wager is called the Tie bet. It awards its payout if both hands have the same value when the round ends. We would avoid playing this stake, as the odds are not very great. Still, if you decide to go for it, you are looking at an 8:1 potential reward.

HIGH LIMIT BACCARAT (MICROGAMING): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT
High Limit Baccarat managing to stay relevant despite its age is something that continues to amaze us. It lacks a few elements like fancier visuals or side bets, but it remains incredibly fun to play. If you do not want anything to distract you from the basics, then this is definitely the right choice. However, if you want more options in terms of side bets, it may be worth looking into another title.
