INTRODUCTION

Playtech Majority Rules Speed Blackjack is a rather interesting effort to turn blackjack into a community game. Thanks to its majority vote system, all players on the table have an equal say in how each hand is played. Once 50% or more have decided on a move, it will then be played out. The stream quality is quite good, and can be lowered if your connection is strained or your bandwidth is limited.

The RTP for this game is 99.54%, assuming the punters always vote following the perfect blackjack strategy. Dealers must stand on both hard and soft 17s. Players can only split their first hand. Playtech’s release is played with eight decks and comes with two available side bets. The first is 21+3, and the second is Pairs.

HOW TO PLAY MAJORITY RULES SPEED BLACKJACK

When the round begins, punters choose one of the available coin values and place them on the bets they want. You can play one or both hands simultaneously, as well as the two available side bets on both sides. After accepting your wager, the game will check how many players are active. If enough casino members are playing, it will use Majority Rules mode. If not, the table will play following Best Strategy mode.

If there are not enough people to hold votes on what should be played, Best Strategy makes all decisions automatically. It follows the basic blackjack strategy, and it will play following its rules. In this mode, punters cannot vote on what they think the next step should be. However, we have never seen this mode in action while testing Playtech’s table.

During Majority Rules, players will be prompted to vote on what they think should be the next play. Ideally, Majority Rules Speed Blackjack will try to get a 50% majority on a decision before it is played. However, if votes are split in such a way that no decision gets 50% of the votes, the most voted-for option is selected.

After the round is played, the game will check if anyone has achieved a standard or blackjack win. It will then pay out accordingly! Side bets will only grant prizes if the punters have wagered on them ahead of time.

EXTRA FEATURES

21+3 pays money if your first two cards and the dealer’s up card create a valid three-card poker hand. Available winning combinations and their payouts are as follows.

  • Suited three-of-a-kind – 100:1
  • Straight flush – 40:1
  • Three-of-a-kind – 30:1
  • Straight – 10:1
  • Flush – 5:1

Pairs grants a reward if your first two cards form a pair. The more the pair matches, the better prize it will grant!

  • Mixed pairs, where just the numbers match, offer a 6:1 payout
  • Coloured pairs, where numbers and colours match, grant a 12:1 reward
  • Perfect pairs, where numbers, colours and suits match, provide a stunning 25:1 prize.

You can also decide if you want to enable automatic splitting and doubling. These are on by default but can be toggled on the welcome screen or in game settings.

PAYOUTS

The top prize for main bets in Playtech Majority Rules Speed Blackjack is 3:2 for a blackjack win. Quite a ways away from the 100:1 reward offered by 21+3! However, if you want to take advantage of this game’s high RTP, you need to stick to main bets. Standard wins pay 1:1, while insurance bets pay 2:1 if won.

MAJORITY RULES SPEED BLACKJACK (PLAYTECH): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT

We are quite impressed with how Playtech has designed this blackjack table. Faster rounds will entice experienced punters to play here. New players can just coast along and learn the strategy while seeing how others vote every round. While we would not call it a must-play, we think every fan of blackjack should try it once, at least.
