INTRODUCTION
European Roulette is a timeless classic. It can offer countless hours of fun and some impressive wins here and there. As such, it is a must-have for any Live casino software provider. Pragmatic Play’s Live Roulette does not try to reinvent the roulette wheel like so many of its competitors. Instead, it offers a high-quality European Roulette table for players who do not want to experiment with variants.
The table follows European Roulette rules. Among other things, this means it only has one zero. There are thirty-six other numbers, split into red and black zones. The single zero occupies a green field, excluding it from some outside bets. The user interface is designed to be easy to use, and it works wonders. Side bets are available, but can only be activated through the racetrack.
HOW TO PLAY LIVE ROULETTE
Make sure to sort out your bets before you start playing. The first thing you should do is pick a coin that suits your budget. Then, place said coin on one or more positions on the board. Each position is marked with a number. You can bet on a number directly, or on multiple numbers at the same time. The more numbers a single bet covers, the more likely it is to win. However, it also decreases the expected reward.
Depending on the number of positions covered by the bet, it can be separated into two categories. Outside bets cover more numbers and are usually found on the outside of the betting field. Inside bets cover fewer numbers, which makes them less likely to win. However, they have increased payouts to make up for the lower odds of scoring a prize.
PAYOUTS
Pragmatic Play has done a good job of making their statistics page easy to read. It tells us numbers that frequently appear, as well as hot and cold numbers. You can use the slider at the bottom to determine how far back the game should check for. By default, Pragmatic Play’s Live Roulette checks the previous 50 spins.
Outside bets have a higher chance of winning. Red/Black, High/Low and Odd/Even bets cover a whopping 18 numbers! This gives you just under one in half odds of winning them. Their payout reflects this. These three wagers pay 1:1 when won. Column and dozen bets, by contrast, only cover twelve numbers. As such, their payout is slightly better, sitting at 2:1.
The math for inside bets is simple. The less numbers a bet covers, the better the reward for winning it is. Inside bets and their payouts are as follows.
- Line – 5:1, covers six numbers
- Corner – 8:1, covers four numbers
- Street – 11:1, covers three numbers
- Split – 17:1, covers two numbers
- Straight – 35:1, covers just one number

LIVE ROULETTE (PRAGMATIC PLAY): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT
We enjoyed our time playing this Pragmatic Play release. The developers have done a good job at making this live roulette table easy to play. It is a good European Roulette table, but it needs to be more than that, especially if Pragmatic Play hopes to compete against live dealer giants like Evolution.
