INTRODUCTION

Microgaming’s Vegas Single Deck Blackjack is an online blackjack table that is played with only a single deck. This is in contrast to modern online blackjack tables, which often use six or eight decks total. Players are treated to lovely animations and an elegant user interface that blends in wonderfully with the table. If you want to speed up your gameplay, you can enable Quick Deal in the settings.

The RTP for this blackjack table is 99.69%, assuming perfect play. The dealer will always hit if they have a soft 17 in hand. The computer will also peek at its face down card to check for blackjack, and offer an Insurance bet to players. Unlike many other tables, Vegas Single Deck Blackjack does not have any side bets.

HOW TO PLAY VEGAS SINGLE DECK BLACKJACK

Your coins are positioned on the edge of the table. You select them by clicking or tapping one. Players are able to use the arrow pointing down to reveal bigger chips, allowing for a bigger bet. There is only a single space to place your bet on, and it’s clearly labelled on the screen. Once your wager is complete, press deal to draw cards.

Players receive two cards and are given the option to hit or stand. You can also double down and split, but only under specific circumstances. For splits, you need to be holding a pair; two cards with an identical value. You can only split once per round, and you have to pay an additional bet to do so. You may only double if you have a hard nine, ten or eleven in your hand. Hard meaning the hand must not contain an Ace.

After playing the cards, the dealer will reveal their facedown card. They will also continue to draw so long as their hand is a soft 17 or less. The dealer loses if they go over 21, or if your sum of cards is closer to 21 than theirs is. In case you win the Insurance bet, you only win the prize from that specific wager. You still lose the main round due to the fact the dealer got a blackjack.

PAYOUTS

You won’t find any extravagant wins here. The game has regular blackjack payouts you’ve seen on most other tables. Blackjack pays 3:2, and is the maximum prize you can win in Vegas Single Deck Blackjack. Meanwhile, standard wins score a 1:1 prize, while Insurance pays 2:1. We don’t recommend taking the insurance bet; the odds of winning are too low for the payout it offers.

what we like

  • Blackjack played with only one deck
  • High RTP
  • Very focused on core blackjack gameplay

what we don’t like

  • No side bets
  • Doubles and splits are heavily restricted

VEGAS SINGLE DECK BLACKJACK (MICROGAMING): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT

How much you’ll enjoy Microgaming’s Vegas Single Deck Blackjack depends on what you’re looking for in a table. Big wins from a lucky side bet isn’t something the developer is able to offer you. That said, if you enjoy slowly building up your cash pile while applying a strategy, this will be the perfect release for you. Fantastic work, Microgaming!
