INTRODUCTION
Zombies are a huge cultural phenomenon. Not too long ago, you could not watch a movie or TV show without these shambling monstrosities. While they are not as prevalent anymore, they are still a very recognisable addition to various games. Now, we are seeing them invade the realm of blackjack through Genesis Gaming’s latest entry. Do you have what it takes to beat back these disgusting horrors?
The RTP for this release is 99% if you play it perfectly. The game uses eight decks, and has the dealer hit on a soft 17. Dealers peek for blackjack. Players can double on any two-card hand, and you are allowed to double down after splitting. You can split any pair, including aces. Furthermore, you can also re-split aces, which is not always allowed. There are no available side bet. Instead, Genesis Gaming’s Zombie Blackjack takes advantage of the coffin bet special feature.
HOW TO PLAY ZOMBIE BLACKJACK
Players start by choosing one of the available coins, and placing them on the main bet field. Use the coins to tune your wager to your liking. You can only play one hand at a time, with no available side bets. After setting up your wager, you can click the bottom right button to start the round. This will prompt the dealer to start drawing cards.
The computer draws two cards for itself and the player. You can see both of your cards, and only one dealer card. With this information, you will need to decide your next course of action. Players can hit to draw another card or stand to end your turn. Alternatively, you can choose to double if you are confident the next card you draw will lead to a win. If you draw a pair, you also get the option to split the cards. After you finish your round, the dealer will reveal their second card.
From here, the computer will draw more cards for itself if needed. It draws cards up until reaching a hard 16 or a soft 17. Which hand wins depends on who gets closer to the value of 21 without going over. Achieving a value above 21 for the player results in a bust. Meanwhile, dealers only bust if they get a hand value of 23 or more. This rule adjustment is what allows Genesis Gaming to add the coffin bet mechanic to the rules.
PAYOUTS
Zombie Blackjack may offer a unique gameplay mechanic, but it makes no change to payouts. There are no side bets available, meaning the biggest possible win is a 3:2 reward. That prize is granted if your first two cards form a hand value of twenty-one. All other blackjack wins pay even money.
One more option you can go for is the insurance bet. It becomes available if the dealer shows an ace, threatening to form a blackjack win. Insurance bets require an additional wager worth half of your original stake. You receive a 2:1 payment if the dealer’s second card is any ten-point card. We advise against playing insurance wagers, as the odds of winning one are very low.

ZOMBIE BLACKJACK (GENESIS GAMING): CASINOBLOKE’S VERDICT
Most blackjack innovations in recent years revolved around adding multipliers to the mix. As such, Genesis Gaming’s experiment comes as a much-needed breath of fresh air. It forgoes anything that could distract you from the coffin bet experience it offers. If you like the new mechanic, you will fall in love with this release. Personally, we had a blast. We hope you will enjoy this title just as much as we did!
